Horizontal Arrangement, Neat Packaging, Reliable Seal Integrity
VERA i-SD 40 is a specialized packaging solution that combines the high efficiency of conventional vertical packaging machines with horizontal product arrangement technology. In the system operating with the Horizontal Drop principle, products are placed horizontally inside the package, creating an aesthetic and orderly package structure.
The machine’s intermittent operating principle allows the sealing jaws to remain in contact with the packaging material for the ideal duration, creating strong and uniform seal integrity. This engineering approach helps preserve package integrity, especially in packs containing multiple products, and supports the preservation of product freshness.
Thanks to its multi-lane packaging system and precise perforation technology, VERA i-SD 40 offers a practical consumer experience while providing high stability and operational flexibility on production lines. With its modular structure, it quickly adapts to different product lengths and package formats, increasing efficiency in production processes.
Packable Products
Pet treats, pet food products, cat and dog treat sticks, and similar stick-form products.
Key Advantages
Horizontal Product Positioning (Horizontal Drop)
Products are placed horizontally inside the package during the packaging cycle. This structure ensures that stick-form products are positioned parallel and neatly inside the package, creating premium packaging aesthetics.
Multi-Lane and Perforation System
Multi-pack production can be made in quantities set from the operator panel, such as 3-pack, 5-pack, and similar formats. Thanks to the precise perforation line added between the packs, the consumer can easily separate them.
Independent Seal Cells
Each product cell is sealed independently by the horizontal sealing jaws. When one pack is separated, the other packs continue to preserve their seal integrity.
Dynamic Cutting Technology
The machine software tracks the position of the products inside the package with millisecond-level precision and performs cutting and perforation operations at the correct point.
Synchronized Product Feeding System
The cleated elevator system operating in synchronization with the machine ensures that products are transferred to the packaging unit in a regular and safe manner.
High-Strength Body
The machine’s main load-bearing body is designed as a steel construction resistant to heavy-duty operating conditions and is coated with electrostatic powder paint. This structure provides high mechanical durability during long-term use and ensures stable operating performance on the production line.
Food-Safe Components
All surfaces, hoppers, and collar tube assemblies that come into contact with the product are made of AISI 304 quality stainless steel. This hygienic structure ensures full compliance with food safety standards and creates a safe and clean working environment in production processes.
Maximum Stability and Precision
The rigid machine chassis and solid mechanical structure minimize vibrations that may occur during operation. As a result, long-term stable performance is achieved in both filling and packaging operations.
Ergonomic and Open Design
The machine’s open and accessible design allows operators to easily reach internal mechanisms. This enables cleaning, maintenance, and service operations to be carried out quickly.
Smart Protection and Easy Cleaning
Critical areas of the machine chassis are designed in accordance with food safety standards, and its smooth surface structure prevents dust and bacterial accumulation. This design facilitates cleaning and improves hygiene levels.
Practical Packaging Changeover
The film splicing unit and pneumatic shaft system allow quick replacement of the packaging film roll. This reduces roll change time and minimizes downtime on the production line.
CE Compliance
The machine is equipped with safety systems and sensor-based protection mechanisms in compliance with European Union CE directives. This structure enhances operator safety while ensuring the production process continues safely.
PID Temperature Stability
The independent PID-controlled temperature management system used in the vertical and horizontal sealing jaws keeps temperature fluctuations to a minimum. As a result, homogeneous and reliable sealing is achieved across different packaging films.
Flexibility for Operation with or without Photocell
The integrated photocell system detects registration marks on printed packaging films and ensures that packages are cut at the correct point. In transparent or unprinted films, the encoder-based control system is activated, allowing precise adjustment of bag length.
Quick-Access Emergency Stop
Emergency stop buttons positioned at critical points of the machine immediately switch the system to safe mode in the event of any operational problem. This system ensures both operator safety and machine protection.
Active Film Roll Drive System
The independently motor-assisted reel drive structure enables controlled unwinding of the packaging film roll, reducing the load on the film pulling belts. As a result, uninterrupted and stable packaging flow is achieved even at high speeds; bag length accuracy is maintained and mechanical stability is enhanced.
Dynamic Film Management
The pressure-adjustable dancer arm and Auto-Film unwinding system keep film tension continuously under control during roll unwinding. This structure ensures stable film flow up to the final meters of the roll and prevents deviations in bag length.
Smart Safety Protocol
Safety door sensors, film-end detection, and fault detection mechanisms stop the machine immediately and provide visual alerts to the operator. This safety architecture creates a secure working environment on the production line.
Touchscreen Operator Panel
All machine functions, speed settings, and filling recipes are controlled through a user-friendly touchscreen operator panel. This simplifies operator intervention and increases operational control on the production line.
Synchronized Operating Discipline
The collar forming system, servo-controlled horizontal jaw mechanism, and pneumatic sealing jaws are coordinated by the machine software with millisecond-level precision. This synchronization preserves package form even at high speeds.
Fully Automatic Arrangement Module
This unit, which eliminates the need for manual feeding, gathers multiple products in a magazine and automatically places the product into each cleat interval of the elevator.
Easy Hanging and Display
Eurohole or hanging hole applications allow packages to be displayed by hanging on retail shelves. This increases product visibility and improves shelf organization.
MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging)
The MAP system extends product shelf life by removing oxygen from inside the package and injecting protective gas in its place.
Easy-Open V-Notch
The specially formed cut point on the package allows consumers to open the pack easily without the need for any cutting tool.
Rotary Collection Table
The rotary table unit ensures that products exiting the packaging line are collected in an orderly manner and speeds up the case-packing process.
Label Applicator Integration
Allows labels containing barcodes, campaign information, or product details to be automatically applied onto the package.
Smart Coding and Traceability
Thermal Transfer Printer (TTO) integration enables high-resolution printing of production dates, batch numbers, and barcode information on the packaging.
Integrated Feeding System Specially Designed for Stick Products
VERA i-SD 40 is supplied with a synchronized cleated elevator system specially designed to transfer stick-form products to the packaging unit in a regular and safe manner. This system has been developed to operate in full compatibility with the machine.
